Awarded ‘Most Innovative Communication’ for factory design at the IoIC Scotland Awards 2017
Motherwell-based manufacturer of rigid and articulated trucks, Terex Trucks, has revealed its ‘workplace experience’ has won the ‘Most Innovative Communication’ at the annual Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC) Scotland Awards 2017.
Created by Studio LR, the new design transformed Terex Trucks’ factory in Motherwell into an inspiring brand experience for staff and visitors. It honours the scale of the trucks and shines a spotlight on the people that make them, as the heroes of the brand, using quirky imagery and slogans. Components from the trucks have been utilised as part of the experience, in particular seats from the truck cabins have been used to create a waiting area in the the reception.
Director and general manager of Terex Trucks, Paul Douglas, commented on the award win: “It’s fantastic to see the workplace experience receive recognition on this level.
“Studio LR did a fantastic job and we are thrilled with the result. The new factory design motivates and inspires the team, builds up our employees’ sense of purpose and engages visitors with humour and confidence.”
The stand-out design impressed the IoIC judging panel, who praised the bold use of language, and beat off other category finalists including SP Energy Networks, Clydesdale Bank, Midlothian Council and Heineken to take the top prize.
