Apprentice Programme

Where learning, earning and life skills meet

College and university aren’t the only routes to qualifications. Here at Terex Trucks, we can offer you an apprenticeship programme which lets you achieve SVQs, HNCs and HNDs while you learn your trade and earn money. All this while under the wing of a global off-road trucks manufacturer owned by one of the world’s best known brands: Volvo.

About the Modern Apprenticeship programme

The programme will take approximately four years to complete. During this time you will have your own dedicated mentor and be part of the Apprentice team working on specific projects. You’ll work alongside and learn from our expert engineers, technicians and experienced team members. At the end (provided you have met all the requirements) you will achieve an SVQ level 2, SVQ level 3 and an NC in an appropriate discipline. Further studies up to HNC/HND level and beyond are also possible.

Full training will be given both at our site in Newhouse, Motherwell, and at our training providers, EKGTA, in East Kilbride.

Craft apprenticeships – Ideally, you’ll have (or expect to have) passed four National 5 grades at level C or above (or the equivalent). Subjects will preferably include English, Maths and a science or technical subject. You should be a hands-on type of person who enjoys craftsmanship.
